I have had a few people private messaging me asking for recommendations on my picks for alts in particular. So I though I'd make a post going over my own portfolio and what alts I am currently bought in for, mostly for long term holds. To start with. I ALWAYS hold a position on my portfolio in BTC. Bitcoin has historically been around 20% of my portfolio and at the moment is around 15% of my portfolio.I also hold a decent amount of fiat reserve. As the market goes up I go more and more into fiat and slowly reduce down the amount of coins I am holding. Normally I go anywhere from 10% fiat to 75% fiat, depending on where we currently are on the market cycle. Now onto the alt coin picks.OMG - solid long term hold going into 2018, dream team at the helm, SDK, plasma and DEX on the table for the intermediate term. 2018 is going to be a huge year for OMG.XLM - this one has already had a good run, but I still think it has a much bigger potential, it is essentially ripple, but better in pretty much every single measurable way.REQ - good project with 2 weekly updates and good progress so far. This is obviously early days, but it is a good concept and should go up steadily over the long term.LINK - unique technology and effectively a requirement to run any significant smart contract integration into real world applications. This one is going to be HUGE.QSP - similar to link in that it is a unique technology and is almost a requirement for smart contracts to exist in any real world integration capacity.WABI - one i missed the ICO on and was able to pick up on the post ICO dip. Chinese project that looks to tackle counterfeiting and traceability across a number of industries, primarily milk powder at the moment. Which for anyone in China will tell you is a HUGE deal in that country.POWR - one of my favourite projects from a tech perspective. I work in heavy engineering as my main profession and POWR is something I can identify with. A solid long term hold that has government backing and solves a real world problem.I hope this helps anyone looking for some solid picks going into the rest of the year. via /r/CryptoCurrency http://ift.tt/2o1hejA
